EMPLOYMENT ASSISTANCE SERVICES (EAS)
Employment Assistance Service (EAS) team provides a full range of employment asistance services to unemployed immigrants, refugees and first and second-generation Canadians. The services are funded in whole or part through the Canada - British Columbia Labour Market Development Agreement. Since 1996, our services have helped hundreds of individuals reach their employment, educational and training goals.
Our services include:
Determining employment, educational and training needs, and creating action plans to meet these needs.
Improving job search techniques
Providing internet links and hard copy materials for career and business development, career selection, learning enhancement, education financing, apprenticeship training and job searches.
Assisting in developing resumes and cover letters.
Accessing career choices and determining the steps needed to achieve career goals.
Assisting in improving interview skills.
Information on local, provincial and national labour markets.
Information on foreign educational credential evaluation through national and provincial professional associations and/or the International Credential Evaluation Service (ICES)
Enhancing basic computer skills with Typing Tutor, Microsoft Word and Excel
Referral to a variety of agencies that offer programs to assist clients with employment, self-employment and skills training.
